On a cool, crisp Winter’s day, Mid Glamorgan took on Gloucestershire’s first team on foreign soil. It hasn’t been the best time for Gloucestershire sport, with a certain English rugby player not really showering himself in glory and making a mockery of professional sport. However , Gloucester played with alot of fight and enthusiasm but unfortunately, they were no match for Mid Glamorgan who romped to victory, comfortably winning 13-2.

On Sunday 6^th November Mid Glamorgan’s success continued as they took on the might of Worcestershire at St Cenydd Leisure Centre. After last week’s hammering, Worcestershire were out for some revenge and travelled with a strong outfit. They weren’t quite able to convert their enthusiasm into points as Mid Glamorgan showed their superiority coming away with a comfortable 14-1 victory. There was a big crowd supporting today and with Sam Warburton swapping the thrills of rugby for some exciting badminton action, Mid Glamorgan didn’t want to disappoint.

On a very gloomy Sunday, which epitomised the Halloween weekend, Mid Glamorgan travelled to Worcestershire to play the first of what was built as the title deciding double header, with the re-match taking place at St Ceyndd School next Sunday 6^th November.

In a match which boasted several internationals including two Olympians (Simon Archer bronze medallist and Richard Vaughan) it was a very exciting affair which was enjoyed by all spectators. Unfortunately for Worcestershire , Mid Glamorgan were on top form and took the match 14-1 , preventing the home team obtaining that all important bonus point.

Season 5 is upon us, with a plethora of new opponents once more we will venture forth into England showing what Welsh Badminton has to offer.

This years sees matches against Warwickshire, Worcestshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire, no doubt the standard will be very high and we relish the challenge they will bring.

Well what a weekend for the Mid Glamorgan badminton faithful. There were tears of happiness and laughter (thankyou Sue), high team spirit (thankyou Sim), moments where people got lost in translation (Andy), and most of all, victory for the team! Mid Glam badminton team travelled to both Guernsey and Jersey to play their division 2 matches in as many days, knowing that if they could secure a win against Guernsey on the Saturday, they would clinch the title. They did just that with a very entertaining 11-4 victory, securing a bonus point and thus securing the championship.
