We would like to thank Glamorgan University for their continued support in allowing us to use this fantastic venue.

Glamorgan Sport Park is a £3.7 million purpose-built development to enhance the provision of academic sporting facilities at the University. It was offically opened on 25th November by Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson. International Rugby teams have recently trained at the facilities and the Cardiff City Youth Academy is based there.

GSP is the first sports facility in Wales to be rated as BREEAM-Excellent. GSP is the home of students outdoor sports at Glamorgan. Glamorgan Sport Park’s impressive 30-acre site includes the following:

  • 1x full size floodlit all-weather pitch
  • 1x full size floodlit 3G pitch
  • 1x floodlit rugby pitch
  • 2x floodlit football pitches
  • 5x football pitches
  • 1x multi-purpose pitch
  • Floodlit scrummaging area
  • Seminar Room for 25 people, ideal for team/ tactical meetings (TV/video, OHP, Dry Wipe boards, flip charts)

The Floodlit All Weather Surface allows an excellent standard of Hockey and Football. The sand based synthetic turf complies with all FIH (Federation of International Hockey) recommendations and includes four covered dugouts for teams. The 3G pitch is a FIFA standard pitch and due to the outstanding quality of our pitches and facilities we are regularly used by professional teams, including Cardiff City FC and Cardiff Blues Rugby Academies and the Welsh Rugby Union as part of their elite coach education programme. GSP has also been used by various professional teams including the British and Irish Lions and the Australian, New Zealand and South African national rugby teams.
